On the side of the Vietnam oil and gas group (petrovietnam), the event was attended by Mr. Đo Chi Thanh, deputy general director of petrovietnam and head of the organizing committee of the 8th oil and gas vocational competition; Mr. Nguyen Manh Kha, member of the executive committee of the Vietnam general confederation of labor, permanent vice president of the Vietnam oil and gas trade union; Mr. Le Minh Hong, vice president of the Vietnam petroleum association; representatives from various departments, the petrovietnam office, the Vietnam oil and gas trade union, and representatives from the participating units in the competition.

In his opening speech, Mr. Đo Chi Thanh – Deputy general director of petrovietnam, shared that the aim of the oil and gas vocational competition is to promote the movement of learning, scientific research, innovation, technical improvement, and production optimization, as well as to hone the skills of the oil and gas workforce. The competition was first held in 2009, and since then, it has been organized every two years. This event serves as an opportunity to identify, select, and train young workers with strong knowledge and excellent skills to participate in national and ASEAN-level vocational competitions.

Over the course of seven editions, the oil and gas vocational competition has become a celebration of professional activities and vocational skills, providing a platform for workers to exchange ideas, learn from one another, and enhance their expertise and technical skills. It is a day to honor the rising number of talented engineers and highly skilled technical workers in the oil and gas sector. The competition has evolved into a tradition for those who seek the flame, a beautiful corporate cultural feature, and a day to celebrate the golden hands of the oil and gas workforce.

Hong Ky hopes that the competition will continue to serve as a driving force, motivating workers, especially young labor forces, to elevate their professional responsibility, ignite the spirit of innovation, technical improvement, and skill development, and train skilled workers. This will contribute to building a workforce of highly qualified engineers and technicians in the mechanical industry with strong expertise, ensuring they meet the growing, dynamic, and sustainable development needs of the market.

Immediately after the opening ceremony, the contestants began their competitions, promising exciting and highly specialized contests that would help the units showcase the “brains” and “golden hands” of the “fire seekers.
